The Local Heritage Initiative was a national grant scheme that helped local groups to investigate, explain and care for their local landscape, landmarks, traditions and culture.  The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) provided the grant but the scheme was a partnership, administered by the Countryside Agency with additional funding from Nationwide Building Society.  On 1st October 2006, the HLF took over the administration of the scheme.

The Friends of Coggeshall Grange Barn project has its own page on the LHI web site - Heritage in Our Hands.
